Andre Villas-Boas has tipped his old club Chelsea to romp away with the Barclays Premier League trophy, adding that Jose Mourinho and his players have the experience to get over the line first.
After their 4-0 win over Tottenham on Sunday, Chelsea opened up a seven-point lead over Liverpool and Arsenal, with Manchester City a further two points behind albeit with three games in hand.
The Portuguese, who endured a torrid time at Stamford Bridge before being sacked in March 2012, appeared to dismiss Liverpool’s chances.
Villas-Boas, 36, who has been out of work since being sacked by Tottenham in December, believes that his former boss Mourinho has the nous to steer them home.
‘Jose is a very experienced manager in times like this,’ he said.
‘So Chelsea will be right in it at the end and if I had to choose one out of the three, it would be Chelsea.’
The Blues return to action on Saturday evening at Aston Villa.
