Chelsea are hoping to sign Nigerian World Cup star Emenike this summer. The West London side has made a formal £16 million bid for the 27-year-old and The Blues believe that it will be enough to convince current side Fenerbahçe to part with the player.
According to reports in Turkey, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Nigerian international, and decided to slap an offer for the striker’s services after Emenike impressed at the current World Cup and helped his country reach the knockout stages of the tournament.
The 27-year-old had an excellent season in the last campaign scoring 12 goals and also picking up 9 assists. Emenike moved to Turkey last year from Russian side Spartak Moscow in a deal worth up to £10 million but Fenerbahçe are happy to make a quick profit on him.
