Chelsea look to sign Pepe Reina

Reports from The Sun suggest that Chelsea are on course to sign Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina from AC Milan. Its been only days since Reina joined AC Milan from Napoli and now, it seems that Chelsea are closing in on signing the 35-year old for £9 million.

Reina has already played under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli. He was a regular under Sarri at Napoli. Reina was a part of Spain’s World Cup squad this summer but was just a cover for David de Gea. Following Spain’s elimination in the lat 16, Reina announced his retirement from international football. He played 36 matches for the national team.

Chelsea are entertaining the possibility of losing Thibaut Courtouis to Real Madrid so they are looking to sign a replacement for the Belgian. The 35-year old Reina had a terrific season with Napoli as they were the runners-up of the Serie A. Reina had the most number of clean sheets in the 2017-18 Serie A with 18.
