Antonio Conte not overly keen
Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Borussia Mochengladbach to re-sign their midfielder, Thorgan Hazard.
The Belgian international joined the German side on a permanent basis in February 2015 after a successful loan spell at the club.
He failed to feature for Chelsea’s senior side during his three years at Stamford Bridge, but has impressed with 18 goals and 20 assists in 89 appearances at Gladbach.
And according to German journalist Philip Harmeling, Chelsea have approached the Bundesliga side as they look to bring him back to the club in the upcoming January transfer window.
However, it’s thought that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is not keen on the idea, and hasn’t made Hazard a priority transfer target.
And, to complicate matter further, the 23-year-old is reportedly not interested in returning to West-London, despite the Blues having a buy-back clause thought to be worth between £16-£18m.
Harmeling posted in a series of tweets: “Chelsea has approached #BMG for Hazard and his buy-out clause.
“The price is fixed around €18-20M (£16-£18m) but none of BMG and Hazard are interested.
“Chelsea has made Hazard a priority for the next transfer window in January but looks like they have a lot to do to convince Hazard to leave.”
