Chelsea make move for Remy

Want-away QPR striker Loic Remy is all but set to move to Stamford Bridge before the window closes.

The Frenchman has said that he would be content to stay at Loftus Road this season, but admitted that he could not resist Champions League football if it came around.

And now, with new signing Diego Costa set to be sidelined for a few weeks and with Fernando Torres set to depart for AC Milan, Chelsea have decided to make their move to sign the player.

It is believed that Chelsea have met Remy’s ÂŁ8.5 million buy-out clause in his contract, and have booked a medical for the forward tommorow.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has previously admitted Remy will only leave the Hoops for a team in the top seven of the Premier League, and it now appears that Chelsea will snap him up.

Chelsea are confident that they can snatch the player away from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, with Newcastle still in the running for the player.
