The striker is currently the leading goalscorer charts in the Premier League
Antonio Conte wants to bring Romelu Lukaku to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
According to reports, the former Italy manager plans to add several reinforcements to his side at the end of the season and he has identified the Belgium international as one of his main targets.
Lukaku has regularly managed to find the net since leaving Chelsea after his first spell at the club and he has become one of Everton’s key players.
He also fired in the goals during a loan spell at West Brom and these performances have led to his former employers wanting him back.
Challenge in Champions League
He won’t be cheap but Conte is keen to sign the 23-year old to add even more goals to their squad so that they can challenge in Europe next season, with the Blues likely to qualify for the Champions League this season due to their current league position.
In addition, they could lose current star striker Diego Costa and would therefore need a replacement. The Spaniard has been the Blues top scorer this season and is one of the reasons why the club are flying high at the summit of the table.
However, he was tempted by a high-paying offer from China in January and one of the Super League sides could again come in for the striker in the summer and make an offer that Chelsea can’t refuse. If that is the case, then Lukaku could be his replacement.
