The defender believes he is at the ‘crossroads of his career’

According to reports, Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill is prepared to leave Stamford Bridge in order to save his international career in time for Euro 2016.

The England vice-captain has lost his starting spot in West London to Kurt Zouma since the arrival of Guus Hiddink as interim manager.

Cahill’s last appearance in the Blues’ shirt was on 10th January, when Chelsea hosted and defeated League One side Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup third round.

And without game-time for his club, his starting place for the Three Lions could quite easily be lost to the likes of Manchester United’s Chris Smalling and Everton’s John Stones and Phil Jagielka.

News agency Reuters have claimed that the 30-year old is willing to leave in order to revive his career and keep his international berth for this summer’s European Championships.
