Blues renew their interest in Everton centre-back
Chelsea have reportedly made a fresh offer for Everton defender John Stones, worth around £45million.
The Blues were keen on signing the centre-back over the summer, but failed with three formal bids with Everton playing hard-ball over the defender’s future.
Despite being knocked back three times over the summer, Chelsea haven’t given up hope in their pursuit of the England international, and although they’ve changed managers since, they still remain interested.
Formal Bid
According to reports, the Premier League champions have lodged a formal bid worth around £45m this time around, which is £8m more than what they offered over the summer.
As it stands, Roberto Martinez still doesn’t want to sell the centre-back, but an offer of around £45m could see him be persuaded to let go of the 21-year-old.
