Chelsea’s hopes of signing Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis, have been dealt a huge blow after it was revealed that his £19million buy-out clause is too high for the Premier League sides liking.

The Blues are desperate for a new left-back after Ashley Cole left the club this Summer, and they were hoping to wrap up a deal for Luis, which would have seen him become the second Atletico player to make the move, but it appears the asking-price is too much for Jose Mourinho’s liking.

Madrid are not budging at all on the £19m buy-out clause, and they will not accept offers of any less, which has left Luis stranded at the club.

According to some reports, the 28-year-old may even buy himself out of the club and help Chelsea secure the deal by paying money towards his own transfer fee.
