Chelsea to break Manchester United’s league record

Chelsea are set to break Manchester United’s Premier League record of most days top of the table.

Jose Mourinho’s side have been sitting pretty at the top of the league since August 30th and are just days away from breaking the Premier League record.

The record is currently held by Manchester United’s 1993/1994 team, who spent 262 days on top of the tree, but with eight games remaining, Chelsea have currently been on top for 257 days.

If Mourinho’s men do remain top from now until the end of the season, which is heavily expected as they hold a seven-point lead with a game in hand, they will have spent 274 days of the season on top of the table.
