Blues ready to make changes in January
Chelsea are ready to enter the transfer market in January by looking to spend around £40million on Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.
The Blues have been long-term admirers of the French forward, tracking him since his Real Sociedad days, but since his move to Atletico, he’s only got better.
Griezmann has been converted from a left-winger to an out-an-out striker at Atletico, and his scoring record shows that he’s made the adjustment with ease.
Premier League Interest
The Frenchman was one of La Liga‘s top goalscorers last season, and that saw him linked with a mega-money summer move to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Manchester United interested.
However, it’s now Chelsea that are ready to make the first formal move, and a £40m bid is expected to be launched in January.
Jose Mourinho is desperate to add firepower to his squad, with the likes of Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy all failing to impress, and Griezmann is his number-one target.
The Premier League champions have had a shocking start to the 2015/2016 campaign, and a mega-money signing midway through could provide the spark they need.
