Manchester City stunned the footballing world with announcement yesterday
Chelsea are ready to appoint Manuel Pellegrini as their next manager after the shock announcement coming out of Manchester City yesterday.
Pellegrini confirmed to the world yesterday afternoon that he would be leaving his role as manager of City at the end of the season, to be replaced by Pep Guardiola, who’s also leaving his role as Bayern Munich manager.
Speculation has been high for months regarding Guardiola‘s future, and the club decided to announce the news yesterday after weeks of formal talks with the Spaniard.
Pellegrini insisted that everything was done with him in the know and there was nothing done behind his back, and that’s why he felt it was the best time to announce the news.
Pellegrini to Chelsea?
With the Chilean now looking for a new job, he could have the opportunity to stay in the Premier League, with Chelsea interested in hiring him.
He’s now the favourite to take over from Guus Hiddink at the end of the season after his fairly successful stint at the Etihad Stadium.
