With captain Vincent Kompany out with a hamstring injury and Matija Nastasic on his way to Inter Milan, Manchester City are in the market for a defender in the next transfer window.
Manuel Pellegrini is said to be lining up a £47 million bid for the German World cup winner. Hummels has been struggling at Borussia Dortmund in the league which has seen them bottom of the table in some parts of the season.
The news of City’s interest in Hummels has not been happy news to Arsene Wenger and Louis Van Gaal who also have defensive problems of their own as they have been using make shift defenders for some games due to injuries.
