With his move to Real Madrid on the brink of colapsing, Manchester City look set to bid for Monaco forward Radamel Falcao. The Premier League champions look to fend off interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea for the Colombian’s signature.
If these move does materialise then it could spell the end of Alvaro Negredo’s Manchester City career as the forward has been linked with a move to Atletico. City would only be willing to let the forward leave if they had already acquired a replacement for him.
It is understood Madrid have turned their attentions to Monaco team mate and fellow Colombian James Rodriguez who shone during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Rodriguez who won the Golden Boot has been qouted as saying he would love to play for Real one day.
It is also understood that Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes is looking at alternative destinations for his client if the move to Real collapses, with City top of his list. Whether City can pull a deal of for the forward remains to be seen as they face FFP regulations in the transfer market this summer.
