Goalkeeper could miss two months
Chelsea have been dealt a major injury blow with the news that Thibaut Courtois could be out for up to two months.
Initial reports had the Belgium fighting to be fit in time for Saturday’s game against Everton, but then it emerged from his home country that he could be out for a month.
However, after further tests and scans, it’s been revealed that the ‘keeper could actually be out for up to two months.
The 23-year-old suffered a knee injury earlier on in the season, but after serving a suspension for being sent-off against Swansea City in the Premier League opener, he had time to rest up and recover.
Training Injury
After returning from international duty, Courtois was fine and back training with Chelsea, but on Wednesday he hurt his knee once again and is now facing a spell on the sidelines.
It’s understood that Courtois HASN’T damaged his ligaments, but he could still miss up to eight-weeks, with further scans set to reveal more over the next 24-hours.
Courtois’ injury will see Asmir Begovic start in goal at Goodison Park tomorrow.
