Liverpool striker will miss start of next season

Liverpool have been dealt a massive blow with the news that Daniel Sturridge will be sidelined for the next four months, meaning he will miss pre-season and also the beginning of next season.

The injury-prone striker has been sidelined for three separate injuries throughout this season and the latest one has seen him have to undergo surgery.

Surgery and Recovery

Sturridge had hip surgery and is now set to miss four months of action, meaning he will have no pre-season and will miss the first few games of the 2015/2016 season.

Four months leaves Sturridge out of action until September, and with the new season starting earlier than ever in the first weekend of August, it means the striker could miss the first two months of the new campaign.

Strikers Exodus

The news will come as a massive blow to Brendan Rodgers, and with Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli all expected to be sold throughout the Summer, The Reds could be in the market for two or three new strikers.

Divock Origi will return from loan and it’s reported that Danny Ings could be on his way in, but as it stands, Liverpool have one injured striker and three unwanted strikers.
