Liverpool star, Daniel Sturridge, is set to miss another month after suffering a setback in training midweek.

According to reports, the Englishman was closing in on his return to first-team action, but during the week, he suffered a calf strain in training, which could see him miss a further four weeks.

The 25-year-old was just on the brink of fully recovering from his thigh strain, which he picked up in September, but another injury has seen his return pushed back.

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that it could be anywhere between two weeks and four weeks, with the latter seeing him miss some crunch games in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

“He’s looking at being out for two to four weeks,” Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo.

“It’s a big blow as we were looking forward to welcoming Daniel back. He has worked tirelessly.

“But we have other players training hard and working hard and we will turn to them. It’s why we bulked up the squad in the summer.”

The injury could see Sturridge miss BOTH Real Madrid matches in Europe, and would also see him pushing to be fit for the Chelsea game on the 8th November.
