Wolfsburg defender reassures club it wasn’t he who said he wants a move to the Bridge
Wolfsburg centre-back Dante has been involved in a mistaken identity saga which saw him linked with a move to Premier League champions Chelsea.
Reports emerged after Dante seemingly said he wanted a move to Stamford Bridge as it’s his dream to play for a club like Chelsea.
However, the Brazilian centre-back has had to comment on the speculation and has claimed it was another player called Dante who wants the move.
The quotes of dreaming about Chelsea actually came from Abdoul Dante, who is the captain of Mali U17s, and after playing at the U17s World Cup, he admitted that he’d love a move to the Premier League champions.
Dante Dismisses Quotes
When asked about the story, the Wolfsburg Dante said:Â “It’s been difficult and confusing for me. I couldn’t understand why people were calling me and asking about Chelsea.
“I only left Bayern in the summer, I’ve got a three-year contract with Wolfsburg so I’ve nothing to look for. I don’t know the other Dante but it’s his dream, not mine!”
