Former-Manchester United manager David Moyes has spoken out for the first time since his sacking from the club, and he believes he deserved more time to prove his worth at Old Trafford.

Just 10-months into his six-year deal, the former-Everton boss was sacked, with just four games left of the season, and after being replaced by legend Ryan Giggs, it is Louis Van Gaal who has officially taken his job on a permanent basis.

The Scot was hand-selected by previous manager Sir Alex Ferguson, and despite a tough season, Moyes insists that Fergie backed him and supported him throughout the campaign, and he believes he was only sacked due to the instant success the board were expecting.

In the interview, Moyes admitted he is frustrated that he didn’t get a fair chance at proving his worth to the club, but he has already received several offers from ‘top clubs’ to get straight back into management.

“I never had the chance to thank the Manchester United supporters for the backing they gave me during my time as manager. I wish them every success in the future.

“They now appreciate, I am sure, that things are changing at their club and it could well be that gone are the days of long-term planning. They were fully aware of the task I had. It was unfortunate I wasn’t given more time to succeed.”

“Since leaving, I have received some very good offers and am tempted by one or two of them.

“I have not closed the door on anything and am open-minded about my next step in management, and whether it will be in the UK or abroad.

“Another possibility is that I may choose to have a break and enjoy watching and observing football throughout the world. What I do know for sure is that I have moved on.”
