Manchester United star, David De Gea, could quit the club in the near-future, according to manager Louis Van Gaal.
During his weekly press conference, Van Gaal admitted that midfielder Darren Fletcher is set to join West Ham United, and he also confirmed that the club face losing their star-‘keeper, with Real Madrid interested in him.
The Spaniard has been one of Van Gaal’s stand-out perfomers this season, saving The Red Devils on numerous occasions, but his time at Old Trafford may be coming to an end.
Madrid see De Gea as a long-term replacement for Iker Casillas and Van Gaal has admitted that anything could happen.
‘In football, everything is possible,’ Van Gaal said. ‘[But] we want to keep him.’
According to reports, United officials have offered De Gea a five-year contract extension worth around £140k-a-week.
