Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has told Arsene Wenger and Arsenal that they can ‘forget about’ signing winger Angel Di Maria and goalkeeper Casillias this summer.
Arsenal have been linked several times with a bank-busting double swoop for Madrid pair Di Maria and Casillas, but now Madrid have firmly stated that both players are not for sale. Casillas, who came through the ranks at Madrid, has been involved in much speculation this year due to playing second-fiddle in the the league to team-mate Diego Alves, and has spent a lot of his time sitting on the bench.
Manchester City have also been rumoured to be sizing up a move for the Spain captain, but Ancelotti has insisted that he is happy at the Bernabau,
“Casillas is very happy here,” said the ex-Chelsea boss.
Di Maria meanwhile has been tipped to leave by many this summer, since the arrival of world-record signing Gareth Bale last year. However, the Argentine has adpoted a new role in the centre of midfield and Ancelotti says that everyone at the club wants him to stay
He added: “I think Di Maria knows very well that everyone wants him [to stay] – the coach, the club, the fans [want him]. I think that he has no doubts with this.”
