Costa recently revealed Antonio Conte had told him he isn’t needed at Chelsea next season and may cost the club big time

The striker was told via a text message.

Costa revealed the message in the media, saying: “I’m a Chelsea player but they do not want me there.

Antonio Conte has told me by message that I do not follow at Chelsea and that’s it.

Now reports are saying this revelation could cost the Premier League champions, with the Blues now apparently set to take a ‘transfer hit’ on Costa’s valuation.

Reports for Chelsea FC Latest news mainstream sources, Costa’s price has now dropped by as much as £10m following his news.

Chelsea Football Club want at least £32m to recoup the fee they paid for the Spanish international, however, the Blues may subsidise Costa’s wages after revealing the news the way he did.

Italian club AC Milan are reporter to be interested in the striker however, they aren’t too keen on paying Costa’s £200,000-a-week wages.

Costa also has revealed that his destination would be Atletico Madrid, the Striker said in the same interview that, he had forwarded the message on his teammates and if Conte doesn’t want him then he will have to find another club, that being Atletico:

“It’s a shame, I’ve already forwarded the message to Chelsea people to decide.”

He added: “It seems I didn’t have a good season. It was just a simple message after all I’ve done for the club.

“But if he doesn’t want me there, then I will have to look for a new team.

“It would be nice to go back to Atletico Madrid but it’s difficult to be four or five months without playing. It’s a World Cup year and I need to play.”
