Eric Dier stated his delight at his 90th minute debut goal for Tottenham during Saturday’s 1-0 win away at West Ham, reports The Guardian.

The England Under 21 international signed for Tottenham from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon in a ÂŁ10 million fee this summer, and made an immediate impact during a feisty derby at a sun-kissed Upton Park.

Both sides were reduced to ten men, with Kyle Naughton and James Collins both sent off respectively, before Dier latched onto a through ball from Harry Kane, before rounding Keeper Adrian and slotting home a left footed finish in front of the Tottenham supporters.

And following the three points, Dier stated his delight to Spurs’ official website.

“I was just really happy to play to be honest and to score on top of that, well, I never imagined it,” he said.

“I saw the keeper coming out in the corner of my eye and I wanted to touch the ball around him and put it in. It all happened really quickly. I didn’t get any time to think about it and that was probably a good thing.

“I really enjoyed it and it’s why I wanted to come here, to play in games like this.”
