Jose Mourinho was today going through his options after finding out returning striker Didier Drogba could face a lengthy spell out of action with now only 2 fit strikers on their books.
Drogba has spoken out following the awkward landing on his right foot by saying, ‘Yes I twisted my ankle and couldn’t continue, in the next few days were going to have some treatment and I hope everything will be better.’
Sources elsewhere have more of a damning verdict on the injury scare by saying he’s damaged ligaments in his ankle and will not play for at least 4 months.
Drogba returned to Chelsea after 2 seasons away in a player/coach role and was due to play a key part in Jose Mourinho’s plan in landing the blues the title.
This could mean Chelsea plunging back into the transfer window for a new striker, with reported interest in Falcao, Cavani & Remy to name a few, Mourinho surely has to act quickly if the scans reveal what they fear the most.
