Eddie Howe maintains his silence on the availability of Jefferson Lerma. The midfielder arrived at the club from Levante for a club record fee of £25m but is yet to appear for the senior side.

The Cherries have made some good moves in the transfer market bringing the likes of Diego Rico to bolster their defence. The Cherries had a very positive start to this season with two consecutive victories and will be looking forward to continuing the good run.

Lerma played his part for the U21s against Brentford alongside Diego Rico, Tyrone Mings, Marc Pugh and Jack Simpson and could be in line to make his debut at the Vitality Stadium. The midfielder’s condition and ability satisfied the Bournemouth gaffer but the 40 year old refused to divulge the details whether the player will be seen against Everton on Saturday. ‘It was nice, I thought he did really well.

“His attitude to the game was first class, his fitness levels looked very good so I was very pleased with his performance, as I was with everyone who played.

“Good exercise and they’ll be better for the game.”

On being asked if Lerma could be ready for the game the boss answered, “You’ll have to wait and see.”
