Paris Saint-Germain striker ready to quit

Edinson Cavani has revealed that he could leave Paris Saint-Germain come the end of the season.

The Uruguay international has become a prime target for several top Premier League sides’ this season, as speculation increases regarding his future at the French title-holders.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are all reportedly set to make a move for the 28-year-old in the summer, who has become frustrated at being played out of position, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been deployed as the main forward this season, leaving Cavani out on the wing.

With Cavani’s contract set to run until 2018, the Parisian side are mulling over whether to stick or twist with the unhappy forward.

Cavani’s dilemma

In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, the former Napoli player said: “I don’t know whether I will stay at PSG. I might stay, I might leave. You never know what will happen in football.

When I arrived at PSG, I was forced to play on the wing.

“People don’t understand how much that has influenced my performances. I would score a lot more if I was played as a striker.

“I want to play as a striker. I would without a doubt do much better in my own position.”
