The Premier League’s biggest clubs are reportedly lining up to attempt to prise Ben Gibson away from Middlesbrough this summer.

However, Gibson, who recently earned his first England call-up, will not make a decision on his future until the season is over, with Boro’s top-flight status in the balance.

Should Middlesbrough be relegated to the Championship, then defender Gibson is set to spark a £25m transfer scramble.

Starsport understands Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham are all keen on Gibson.

The 24-year-old, adept at centre-back and left-back, has been one of Boro’s best performers this season despite their struggles.

He signed professional forms with the club in 2010, and after a few seasons spent gaining experience out on loan, he signed a four-year deal in 2012.

Gibson has also worked his way up through the England system, before gaining his senior international debut last month, replacing Chris Smalling in the Three Lions World Cup Qualifying victory over Lithuania.
