Jack Wilshere is to give Arsenal fans a welcome boost by recovering early from a leg injury.

England star Wilshere had been given a trip to Dubai by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger as a reward for showing signs of recovering from an injured left fibula.

He picked up the injury prior to the Community Shield victory over Chelsea, and was feared to be ruled out for up to three months.

However, given the options of surgery or rest, Wenger decided to send Wilshere away for rest and relaxation to aid the recovery.

Wilshere is due back by the weekend, and Arsenal do not want to rush the player back to soon, as he has suffered with injuries in recent years.

The key test upon Wilshere’s return to training will be when he puts the healed leg into action at Colney.

He is expected to miss England’s Euro 2016 qualifying double-header with San Marino and Switzerland next month, but may well return for the start of Arsenal’s Champions League campaign.

Arsenal lost their opening Premier League game of the season 2-0 at home to West Ham United, and will hope Wilshere can stay injury-free upon his return.
