Tottenham Hotspur lost to Liverpool 3-1 last night.

It was a mistake from Rodon which made matters worse for Spurs but Jose is backing him to come good.

“Next game he [Rodon] plays for sure,” Mourinho told reporters in his post-match press conference.

“He showed good personality, good concentration, was good on the ball. First half building well and going for duels. Not a coward for not to assume the duels, a brave boy to go for every duel, even against difficult opponents like they are.

“For me his performance was very, very good, very solid. He made one mistake. Unlucky that it leads to their third goal, the goal that basically kills the game.

“When I have a player who makes one mistake, it doesn’t matter how big the mistake was, but completely out of the context of a very good, solid performance I only have to support the player and protect the player and the best way to do that is to play the next game for sure.”

Jose also gave an update on Kane’s injury who walked off after the first half.

“Two ankles, the first was a bad tackle, it was Thiago [Alcantara]. The second one I didn’t know well.

“But two injuries in both ankles, the second one worst than the first one – a few weeks [out], I don’t know.

“There are some players you can’t replace. When it happens it happens but I believe we have to fight against it, we cannot do anything else.”
