Ally McCoist picks Ederson over Becker as Premier League's best goalkeeper

Ederson might be the best I’ve ever seen with his feet, said Ally McCoist.

Former striker-turned-pundit Ally McCoist picks his favourite goalkeeper in the Premier League. He has claimed that Ederson is the Premier League’s best keeper ahead of Liverpool’s Alisson Becker.

Both players come from Brazil and they are doing really great for the clubs from last few years. They have helped their teams to win the trophies.

Alisson only conceded just 43 goals in the Premier League 2022/23 season and was outstanding under Jurgen Klopp. The 31-year-old won the August Save of the Month award was also nominated in all three months so far in 2023/24.

On the other hand, Ederson also did a great job for Man City with outstanding saves for the club. He won the treble last season.

The ex-Rangers forward spoke to talkSPORT: “I love Alisson the goalkeeper, but for the way City play, Ederson might be the best I’ve ever seen with his feet.

“He pinged a 70-yard pass to the outside left position yesterday, I mean Ronald Koeman would have been delighted with it. Glenn Hoddle would have loved it!

“He’s got an awareness and he was just dinking balls forwards into Kyle Walker in the right-back position. I like Alisson but he’s not getting in ahead of Ederson because of the way he plays the game.”
