As the run-up to the new Premier League season starts to gather pace after this week’s announcement of the 2016/17 fixtures, Everton have unveiled plans for their revamp of their Goodison Park home.

Architects Condy Lofthous  have submitted plans to Liverpool City Council for a ‘rebranding project’ on the Toffees’ base, which has a capacity of 40,221. The plans include visual representations showing how the revamped stadium will look.

It has been an exciting week for Everton fans, with this news following Ronald Koeman becoming their new manager.

The images show cladding to both ends of the Main Stand and a new cladded tower construction at the Bullens Road side of the Park Stand.

Also shown is a banner system that will ‘wrap around’ the Main Stand, Gwladys Street and Bullens Road Stand. Designs for this wrap are still being worked on and the visuals submitted in the planning document for this part of the project are for illustrative purposes only.

There are also plans for some new signage at the Park Stand. Another feature could be the addition of a Holy Trinity statue.

Some of the work is scheduled for completion by the start of the season. The Toffees have been at Goodison Park since 1892.

Everton will kick off the 2016/17 season at home to Tottenham.
