The club captain was expected to leave at the end of the season, but he has since changed his mind. Antonio Conte, the manager, is a great supporter of Lloris and wants him in the squad next season. The boss is confident goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who is in the final six months of his deal with the club, will sign a contract extension very soon.

“It really should have been sorted a long time ago, not in the final six months of his deal.” Said Antonio Conte when pressed on the issue

According to football.london correspondent Alasdair Gold, there is progress on the Lloris front.

“Conte is confident and from what I understand Lloris is keen to stay and his modest demands have been deemed more than reasonable by the powers that be at Spurs so that shouldn’t take long at all now talks have finally started.”

The France international is eager to stay in north London. The 35-year-old goalkeeper have and the Tottenham board have met at common grounds. Meanwhile, Wolves winger Adama Traore, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham, might depart the Midlands club within the next 24 hours.
