Loïc Rémy could be set for Ligue 1 return as Chelsea have confirmed that the player is for sale.

According to L’Équipe, Ligue 1 side Rennes have contacted the current Premier League champions Chelsea to enquire about the availability of French international.

Remy, 30, moved to Stamford Bridge back in 2014 in a £10.5million deal from Queens Park Rangers, but he has failed to make his mark there.

The French striker spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace but injury scuppered his progress and he has since entered the final 12 months of his contract at Chelsea and Antonio Conte deems him surplus in comparison to the players within the squad.

In response to Rennes query, Chelsea responded that the player was for sale, and Rennes representatives are captivated by the idea of re-invigorating Rémy’s career.

Rennes are also in talks over the possible arrival for Vincent Aboubakar, but the deal seems too difficult to complete at this stage.
