Arsenal’s injury list grows as Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky is ruled out for a further two months.
The Arsenal midfielder’s absence from the first team is set to slip into a fifth month and it has now emerged he underwent surgery last week.
The player’s agent has confirmed – on Czech radio – that due to his reoccurring knee problem he could be out for another eight weeks. The player will also miss out on international duty for the Czech Republic in their upcoming qualifiers in September.
“Tomas last Tuesday passed arthroscopic knee surgery. The recovery period is estimated at four to eight weeks,” Paska told iDNES.cz.
In the build up to the West Ham game, Arsene Wenger told the media on Friday that Rosicky was “on a progressive recovery”.
Injury hit Gunners
Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow, and are already without Jack Wilshire who suffered a hairline fracture on his foot ahead of the Community Shield.
The new injury news has also condemned Rosicky to his continuing frustration. He agreed an extension to his contract last term but has complained about the lack of first team opportunities afforded to him.
The 34 year old was sidelined by Wenger after only featuring in one of Arsenal’s last ten games of last season. However he has promised to remain loyal to Arsenal and fight for his place upon his return.
