Tottenham have dropped an update regarding the injury sustained by Tottenham Hotspur wing-back Ryan Sessegnon
After taking a hit in Tottenham’s 5-0 win against Everton on Sunday, the 21-year-old was taken for hamstring scans on Tuesday afternoon.
Given that Sessegnon had just begun to show hints that he may well go on to become a regular starter under Antonio Conte, the news that the wing-back could now be set for yet another extended time on the sidelines is certain to enrage the 52-year-old.
Indeed, the £13.5m-rated defender has finally managed to make consecutive appearances for the Italian’s side, starting Spurs’ past five Premier League games – an enormously encouraging sign after being out for a big chunk of the season due to injury.
Not only was the kid starting, but he was also demonstrating why the club paid £25 million to recruit him from Fulham in 2019, turning in outstanding displays against Burnley and Leeds United in recent weeks, recording an assist and proving a livewire down the left-hand side of the pitch.
Sessegnon appears to be back at square one in his journey to become a regular first-team starter at Spurs, which will be extremely upsetting for everyone linked with the club.
