The Dane reportedly hopes to realize his dream move away from England.

Christian Eriksen still wants to join Real Madrid despite Tottenham’s offer of a new contract.

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is still hopeful over a move to Real Madrid, but the Denmark international must wait for the call from Los Blancos to confirm their continued interest.

The 27-year-old’s Spurs contract runs out at the end of this season, and having made his intentions to leave North London clear, he is refusing to enter into negotiations to extend his stay in England. Recent reports suggest that Spurs have offered the Dane a new ÂŁ230,000-per-week deal in a bid to persuade him to stay put.

However, MARCA report that Eriksen is still keen to move to the Santiago Bernabeu having failed to seal a transfer this summer. The former Ajax playmaker appears to have no intention of signing fresh terms in north London, making him a free agent next June.

Unless Spurs chairman Daniel Levy agrees some form of contract extension with his star midfielder, Eriksen will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January, as his lawyers are already making calls to clubs across Europe.

The Denmark international is reportedly hopeful that Madrid will come forward with an offer, but the La Liga giants are currently waiting to see how the situation develops.
