‘New contract next week or I walk in summer’ says City midfielder’s agent

Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has warned that unless his client is handed a new 3-year deal this week, he’ll leave Manchester City in the summer.

Seluk claimed that Toure recently turned down a mega deal to move to Chinese club Jiangsu Suining. It was a deal that would have put Toure on ÂŁ20million a year, and according to Seluk that loyalty should be rewarded with a new contract at the The Etihad.

‘In the next week we must find a solution about whether Yaya will prolong his contract with City or he will go to another club,’ Seluk said,

‘But if he leaves City it will surely not be for another English club. He does not want to play against City with another English club. How can he go to another English team and forget the love City fans have showed him?

‘They hired a plane with a banner to say ‘Happy Birthday, Yaya.’ He will never forget that.

‘Some people say he came only for money. But when he came City were only sixth or seventh and had never made it into the Champions League.

‘With Yaya the team started winning. Yaya won every trophy in England but not the Champions League. I hope the draw on Friday is good and they can go to the semi-finals.’

Seluk also claimed that Toure will donate ÂŁ1m per year to the Manchester hospital where his late brother Ibrahim was treated for cancer if he gets a new contract.

Toure starred in City’s 0-0 draw with Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday night as they reached the Champions League quarter-finals, and will find out who they face in the draw on Friday at 11am.
