Manchester City midfielder has been in-and-out of the team
Liverpool are keen on signing Manchester City midfielder Fernando, according to reports.
The holding-midfielder only arrived at the Etihad Stadium last summer, after completing a move from Portuguese side FC Porto, but throughout his time at City, he’s been in-and-out of Manuel Pellegrini‘s starting XI.
It’s believed City paid around £12million to sign the 28-year-old, but according to reports, their Premier League rivals Liverpool could launch a bid for him in the summer and are willing to offer around £10m.
During his two years at City, Fernando has made 42 league appearances, scoring just twice, but with Pep Guardiola coming in in the summer, he’s expected to be knocked further down the pecking order.
Liverpool Interest
So much so, his former-club Porto are interested in signing him, but according to reports, they’ve been joined by Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp eyes some steel in his midfield.
It’s claimed Klopp is a big admirer of the Brazilian and sees him as perfect competition for his midfield.
