Midfielder Marco Verratti of Paris Saint-Germain will sign a €45 million contract with Qatari club Al-Arabi
The Qatari club has finally completed all the necessary steps for the Italian guru to join them after Al-Arabi and PSG reached an agreement a few days ago. Head coach Luis Enrique has determined that Verratti is no longer needed at PSG, and the team has made him leave after 11 years of service.
The 30-year-old midfielder made his debut for Les Parisiens as a teenager before establishing himself as a club mainstay. With PSG, the former Pescara playmaker has made 416 appearances and contributed 61 assists in addition to 11 goals.
Verratti departs PSG as the member of the team who has won the most trophies. In addition to nine French Super Cups, he has won six Coupe de France, nine Coupe de la Ligue, and nine Ligue 1 championships. Additionally, he assisted them in winning the 2019–20 Champions League. However, Verratti was one of the disposables when PSG underwent a significant reorganisation this summer.
The Ligue 1 winners have parted ways with elite players Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Sergio Ramos due to a drastic shift in mindset. The PSG administration sought to sign more players for the French national team, and Luis Campos oversaw the summer transfers.
In an effort to reorganise the team, they made the decision to sign players who were more motivated. They signed Lucas Hernandez, Milan Skriniar, Goncalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, Ousmane Dembele, Manuel Ugarte, Xavi Simons, Bradley Barcola, Marco Asensio, and others. Following their structural shift during the summer, PSG will be looking for results. As Kylian Mbappe enters the final year of his contract, they will also hope that their actions would inspire him to stay.
