The Uruguayan international is set for another Serie A spell.
Fiorentina have completed the signing of former Juventus defender Martin Caceres on a free transfer, the club has confirmed.
Fiorentina were in need of a new centre-back after Vitor Hugo returned to Brazil with Palmeiras. As a result, Caceres has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with Fiorentina, which is reported to include the option of a second season.
On Friday morning, Caceres touched down in Florence to undergo a medical and sign his contract.

The 32-year-old recently ended his third spell with Italian champions Juventus, where he made nine appearances and won his fifth Scudetto. He played very little in the last two years but there are worse choices for a reserve.
He was recently in talks for a move to Monaco, but a move to France failed to materialize. The veteran has also played for the likes of Barcelona, Southampton, Verona and he spent the last six months on loan at Lazio, while representing Uruguay on 93 occasions and at six major tournaments.
