After failing to seal a move to the Premier League, Dybala could get the boot.

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri offered no assurances on the future of the star attacker, saying he has to trim his squad ahead of the Champions League.

Dybala has been linked with a move throughout the summer, with Manchester United and then Tottenham Hotspur tipped as possible destinations. It is believed that Paris Saint-Germain are also interested, with the French outfit said to be in “advanced negotiations” regarding the possible sale of Neymar.

The Argentina international made his return to the Juventus team for their pre-season friendly with Atletico Madrid on Saturday. The Argentine appeared as a late substitute. After the 2-1 defeat to the revived Spanish side, coach Sarri gave a stark and honest post-match interview, declaring “we have to cut six players from the current squad.”

“We have to cut six players from the current squad and that puts me in a difficult position. The last 20 days of the market will be difficult for us, it’s an embarrassing situation, because we risk having to leave out players of a very high level.

“Dybala only had two training sessions with me, so all evaluations are premature. Clearly, he can’t be at the top of his condition physically and that also affects what he can do as a False 9. I think he has the characteristics to play in that role, but we’ll have to see how we can fill the penalty area with that solution.

“As I said before, I can talk to Dybala all I like, but the market goes in a certain direction and my opinion counts for zero. We have to cut six players, that’s all there is to it”, the evidently angry with team’s squad management coach stated.

Dybala could yet leave the Serie A champions before the end of the month with the domestic transfer window remaining open across Europe, or else he risks being sidelined out of any Champions League action this season.
