Lionel Messi recorded his 400th La Liga goal in his playing career in the 3-0 win over Eibar on the weekend and this has sparked a heated debate among fans over who is the greatest player ever – the Argentine or Cristiano Ronaldo.
One player who has played with both is Ronaldo’s current teammate at Juventus, Paulo Dybala. The 25-year-old himself is considered as one of the best attacking players in world football and was even once hailed to follow into the shoes of the two legendary figures.
“I am lucky enough to have Cristiano at my club and Leo in my national team,” Dybala told AS, “But it’s impossible to make a comparison between the two of them or say who is the best because they are at a level on a par with each other and well above everybody else and that has been the case for several years.”
“They are different, they have enormous influence because they can decide games on their own and because of the effect they have on the opposition.”
Dybala’s respect for the two players is evident in his words. He still is at the prime of his career and has thoroughly enjoyed the time he has spent with the two footballing gems.
He further added, “Cristiano is an example to follow in training and in his daily life, you can learn a lot from him.”
