The midfielder will cross the border for next season
Joey Barton has today signed for newly promoted Scottish Premier League club Rangers after completing his medical at the Glasgow club’s Murray Park training complex.
The 33-year old agreed personal terms and has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at Ibrox, he will officially join up with his new teammates on July 1.
Barton, who was voted Burnley’s Player of the Year during their Championship winning campaign, turned down a new contract at Turf Moor and ultimately another chance at Premier League football to sign for the Gers.
The one-time England international is holding a news conference at 3:30pm to announce his transfer.
