Real Madrid’s new star Vinicius Junior has thanked teammates and compatriots Marcelo and Casemiro for helping him settle in to the Madrid team.

It is common knowledge in football that settling in a new team can be tough on a player, to an extent that sometimes it has ruined careers. Imagine settling on on not just any team, but arguably the biggest team in football history; Real Madrid.

As if this much pressure was not enough, there were also rumours and expectations of Vinicius replacing possibly the best player in the history of the game, in Cristiano Ronaldo at Madrid. The exciting winger was in for a torrid time and things could have unraveled rather quickly. However, his teammates Marcelo and Casemiro has helped the young winger feel at home and play his natural game while learning the tactical side of things.

He said: ‘Casemiro and Marcelo have played a massive part of me settling in so quickly. Nobody – not myself, my family, Real Madrid – would have envisaged me settling in so quickly, I think I have adapted very fast and now evolving as a player.’He said: ‘Playing for the Castilla helped because I was here even though I was not with the first team, I could adapt to Madrid and the way of life, the expectations here. I want to continue earning first-team opportunities, I am very excited.’
