The agent of Roma striker Mattia Destro is in London, to complete a deal for the player’s transfer to West Ham United, according to reports.
Italian Destro was on loan at AC Milan for the second half of last season.
He returned to the capital this summer, but is seemingly not in the plans of Roma Head Coach Rudi Garcia.
The club have apparently told Destro he is free to find a new club, and he is keen on a move to England.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Arsenal and Chelsea were also keen on Destro, but the Hammers have moved ahead.
The news that the agent has been spotted in London will fuel speculation that a loan deal is close to completion. The loan deal would include an option to buy.
Destro has spent his entire playing career in Italy. He has turned out for Genoa and Siena as well as Milan and Roma. He also appeared for the youth teams of Ascoli and Inter Milan.
He has worked his way up through the Italian youth national system, appearing at Under 16, 17, 18, 19 and 21 levels, alongside eight senior caps.
