Netherlands defender Matthijs de Ligt’s reported move to Juventus is all but done.

The player arrived in Turin last night where he is reportedly set to sign his deal and move from Ajax to Juventus. The defender was caught getting off the private jet in Italy, Turin and said, “I am happy to be here.”

He will be joining Juve after a summer of huge turmoil and endless rumours. Juventus are reportedly paying £67.5m  for de Ligt to Ajax and the player himself is set to be earning £8m per year on salary with lucrative incentive and bonus clauses added to his deal.

de Ligt’s future was the topic of the summer with the young 19 year old defender impressing each and everyone across Europe last season. The Netherlands centre back captained Ajax to two domestic trophies, including the league title and also led them to the semi-final of the Champions League.

His impressive performances saw him get called up to the national team where he has established himself in the starting line up next to Virgil Van Dijk. de Ligt has every skill and talent in him to become the best in the world and has already surpassed many modern day defenders at such a young age.

Juventus will be adding a gem to their team.
