Everton and Sunderland are reluctant to match Celtic’s £10 million asking price for defender Virgil van Dijk, and so have pulled out of the deal to bring the 23 year-old to the Premier League.

The Celtic man has been in excellent form for the Scottish club, and has even managed to bag six goals in all competitions the season.

The Dutchman’s increasing profile in the SPL has brought interest from the Premier League, with numerous sides interested in his services, including the big-boys, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

But, Ronny Deila’s side have placed a £10 million price tag on their valuable defender and so Everton and Sunerland have pulled out of any deal for the former Netherland youth international.

However, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are still in the hunt for the centre-half’s signature.
