Everton winger, Nikola Vlasic is impressing while out on loan with CSKA Moscow and the Russian outfit wants to sign the winger permanently.
The 21-year-old struggled for minutes at Merseyside but has hit his best form at the VEB Arena. He has already registered 7 goals in 20 games this season, which is 5 more than his entire Everton career.
Vlasic was included in Marco Silva’s pre-season training sessions but was not guaranteed much playing time by the new manager. The Croatian opted to move out on loan, rather than warm the benches for yet another season at Goodison Park.
CEO of CSKA Moscow, Roman Babaev admitted to the press about the club’s intentions of signing Vlasic next summer. He said, “Any communication with [Everton] is informal at the moment. But for us, the most important part is Nikola’s position. He would very much like to stay at CSKA.”
“We understand that there are many clubs that would buy Vlasic right now. But until the summer the rental deal protects us. We will talk to them but business is business and if they receive a good offer why would they choose CSKA over another club? So the story is not easy.”
“It is obviously unlikely that CSKA can pay the amount that is discussed in the press at the moment. Everton paid £10million for Vlasic. They need at least that money to recapture the transfer. Furthermore, Nikola receives a lot of attention.”
The real question lies in whether Everton should settle for a reduced transfer fee or should Silva include him in his plans after this season.
