Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin is hoping to get his due chances in the Premier League following a good show in the Carabao Cup. The 21 year old scored a brace as the Toffees brushed Rotherham 3-1.

The youngster had ample of opportunities in the last season as he had his first full fledged season in the Premier League. He finished the campaign with eight goals and nine assists but the arrival of Marco Silva seems to have halted his progress.

The youngster has played just 21 minutes in the top flight as Silva already has a pretty enviable attacking line up at his disposal. Calvert-Lewin’s performance in the Carabao Cup would surely better his chances of getting a call up to the starting lineup.

The youngster believes his performance would open his chances in the Premier League. “It’s nice to know that my hard work has paid off and I got the two goals.

“We put a lot into the game to win it and have put a lot in during training. It’s definitely a cup we want to go for.

‘It’s a chance to show what we can do and stake a claim for the league games. We did that, including the young boys.”
