Striker set for talks with board and manager

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is set for crunch talks with the club regarding his future on Merseyside, with Danny Ings’s move from Burnley nearing completion.

Ings has agreed personal terms with Liverpool, the Reds announced today, the move subject to a medical and a developmental fee as he is under 24  years old.

According to Borini‘s agent, Marco de Marchi, Liverpool have refused a host of bids for the Italian striker, despite him being out of favour.

Marchi told Italian website Calciomercato: “Soon we will have to talk to Liverpool. Several teams have asked for Fabio on loan but the Liverpool board have always refused, especially in light of the £10m bid that was rejected last year from Sunderland.”

Borini spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Sunderland, which was a success. However, he has struggled since returning to Anfield.

He was close to a move to Inter Milan last summer, but a move never came to fruition.

England Under-21 striker Ings scored 11 goals from 35 Premier League games for Burnley last season, however his goals failed to keep the Clarets in the top flight, as the club were relegated after finishing 18th.
